The Light Still Shines | Unwrapping the Presence, Receiving the Gift (Jim Shelburne)

Of all the gifts that came with Jesus, John’s gospel reminds us about what is possibly one of the best—LIGHT. John says, “In Him was life, and that life was the light of men; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:4,5) We live in a dark world that seems to be getting darker; chaos loves darkness. We who follow Jesus need to remember the power of light, and that unless we let Christ shine brightly through us, it will only get darker still. And in the midst of challenging, frightening, unsettling and uncertain times, we must remember that the light of Jesus still shines and that darkness will NEVER overcome it.
